Great performance from the whole team, with superb holding positions from Honor at GS, complimented by accuracy in the feeds in from C, Leanne who picked up on the space to feed with ease.
The defensive play from GK, Sophie resulted in many interceptions from Sophie Barrington at GK throughout the game. Sophie was on her toes and reading the play well consistently in the game, whilst Carli at GD shadowed and blocked her player in her usual confident manor.
Coming down the court, there was great 2-hand marking from Jordan, coupled with a solid performance from both Leanne and Amy, linking the mid-court play in the first half of the game and Leanne and Mia in the second half.
Jordan’s confidence grew in the game, resulting in her blocking out the GA from entering the shooting circle in the 2nd half. GD, Carli played her usually defensive game like she has not had the 9 year game gap and had been playing regularly in the team. A swap at half time with Amy to GA and Mia to WA finished the game with accuracy in the shooting from Amy, supporting the shooting from Honor at GS, whose confidence also grew throughout the game.
Great performance all around in a game that was close from start to finish and could have gone either way. With continued improvement in the individual and team’s game play, the next half of the season looks to be so different from the start of season!
